Hail Damage
The most common claim in this metro and the most commonly written down. We document impact density per slope, not a spot check, because a carrier scoping two slopes will pay for two slopes.

Property Damage in Dallas?
Five Star works North Texas claims from our office on Bryan Street in downtown Dallas. DFW sits under the most active hail corridor in the country, and the 2026 spring season put softball sized stones on Fort Worth and Grand Prairie and repeat storms on the suburbs between them. A hail roof is rarely disputed on whether it was hit. It is disputed on what that is worth.

North Texas losses are usually hail first and water second, and the two get separated so the second one can be called maintenance.

Water that arrives through a hail damaged roof is storm damage. Left long enough it starts to read as a maintenance problem instead, which is a cheaper claim for everyone except you.
Our Texas office is on Bryan Street in downtown Dallas, so North Texas claims are the ones closest to home. The metro sits under one of the busiest hail corridors in the country, but hail is only part of it. Freezes and the clay soil under Dallas homes produce claims of their own, and they are argued differently.
Winter Storm Uri in February 2021 burst pipes across North Texas, and hard freezes still do. Water damage from a pipe that freezes and bursts is usually covered, but many policies exclude freeze damage if the home was left unoccupied without heat or the water was not shut off. Recording the temperature, the date and when you found the leak is what keeps a freeze claim from being argued as neglect.
Dallas sits on expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and foundation movement is common here. Policies generally exclude settling and earth movement, so foundation repair itself is rarely covered. A plumbing leak under the slab is different: the water damage it causes, and often the cost of reaching the pipe through the slab, can be covered even when the movement is not. Which one caused the damage is the claim.
Offices, retail, warehouses and multifamily buildings across Dallas carry commercial policies with percentage wind and hail deductibles, coinsurance clauses and business income coverage. A hail claim on a commercial roof is measured in squares and dollars that make documentation worth the effort. Our commercial claims page explains how we handle them.
Texas law puts deadlines on your insurer. After you report a claim, the insurer generally has 15 days to acknowledge it and start its investigation, 15 business days after it receives everything it asked for to accept or reject the claim, and 5 business days after accepting it to pay. When those deadlines slip, ask in writing for the reason and keep the reply.

Usually not when it comes from settling or soil movement, which most policies exclude. But damage caused by a sudden plumbing leak under the slab, and the cost of getting to the pipe, often is. A plumber's leak test and report are the key evidence.
Yes, including office, retail, warehouse and multifamily property, along with business income losses.
Nothing upfront. We are paid a percentage of what the insurer pays on your claim, and only if we recover money for you. Texas law caps a public adjuster's fee at 10% of the claim settlement, and every public adjuster working in Texas must hold a license from the Texas Department of Insurance.
